Canada crushes Puerto Rico in women's water polo

Canada earned another victory in women's water polo on Thursday afternoon, routing Puerto Rico 19-5.

Canada's women' s water polo team improved its record to 2-1-0 with a 19-5 victory over Puerto Rico at the Pan Am Games (Twitter)

Canada earned its second-straight victory in women's water polo on Thursday afternoon, routing Puerto Rico 19-5.

Behind the strength of Christine Robinson's four goals, Canada improved its record to 2-1-0.

Joelle Bekhazi scored three goals for the home side, while Monika Eggens, Stephanie Valin, Emma Wright, Katie Monton and Dominique Perreault all added a pair.

Carmen Eggens and Krystina Alogbo scored Canada's other goals.

Puerto Rico was led by two goals from Guarina Garcia Delgado. 

Amanda Ortiz Irizarry, Osmarie Quinones Colon and Mairim Rosario Lebron also got on the scoreboard for the Caribbean side.

In other action, the United States dominated their opponent for the second straight day, handling Cuba 18-3, while the Argentinians defeated Mexico 10-8.

Women's water polo action continues on Saturday.
