The opening week of the Pan Am Games is nearly in the books and there have already been a number of memorable Canadian performances.

There is no doubt that the early portion of the Pan Am Games has been a resounding success for Canadian competitors.

Canadian fans have been treated to a number of incredible moments through the early part of the Games.

Ellie Black's dominant five-medal (three gold) performance, Emily Batty and Catharine Pendrel battling to the finish in mountain biking and Mark de Jonge and Laurence Vincent-Lapointe winning canoe/kayak gold on the same day.

Canadian divers Rosline Fillion and Meaghan Benfeito lived up to their Fab IV moniker with a gold-medal effort in the 10-metre synchro event.
