Jennifer Abel, Pamela Ware medal again in World Series diving
Quebec pair have collected 3 medals this season
Jennifer Abel of Laval, Que., and Pamela Ware of Beloeil, Que., earned their third consecutive medal on the FINA World Series diving circuit on Friday in London, England by taking bronze in the women's three-metre synchro.
Minxia Wu and Tingmao Shi of China won the gold with 331.50 points, Italy's Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallape placed second with 314.40, while the Canadian duo scored 295.68.
Abel and Ware had won silver in the previous two diving circuit events.
The Chinese lead the overall standings with 108 points followed by Abel and Ware at 84 after the fourth leg of the world series.
In the women's 10-metre synchro event, Olympic bronze medallists Meaghan Benfeito of Montreal and Roseline Filion of Laval didn't reach the podium for the first time this season, finishing 12 points out of third.
Philippe Gagne of Montreal and Francois Imbeau-Dulac of St-Lazare, Que., equalled their best result this season, by finishing fifth in the men's three-metre synchro. Gagne and Vincent Riendeau of Pointe-Claire, Que., placed eighth in 10-metre synchro.
