FIVB World League volleyball: Canada continues perfect start with win over Egypt
Canadians next face host Czech Republic on Sunday
Canada's men's volleyball team picked up from where they left off on the court in the Czech Republic on Saturday, dispatching Egypt in straight sets in FIVB World League action.
"It was a great grinding win as we did a lot of losing along the way, but still believed in each other and came through," said Canada's acting head coach, Larry McKay. "Fred Winters was very important for us in winning the first set. The toughest challenge is ahead of us tomorrow when we face a strong Czech team with several thousand fans behind them."
After taking a see-saw battle in the first set 25-23, Canada rolled to two more set wins (25-19, 25-16).
Steve Marshall and Toon Van Lankvelt were Canada's top scorers at 12 each.
The Canadians beat China in straight sets 25-18, 25-22, 25-21 on Friday.
Canada continues its World League matches with the Czech Republic at 11:50 a.m. ET on Sunday, live on cbcsports.ca and the CBC sports app.
