Halifax's Ellie Black, Calgary's Brittany Rogers and IsabelaOnyshko of Brandon, Man., have secured three of the five spots on the Canadian artistic gymnastics team for the Rio Olympics in August.

The trio qualified for the squad based on points accrued from the 2015 world championships, 2016 Elite Canada, 2016 Canadian Championships, select international competitions in February and March, and the national selection camp.

The remaining two athletes will be named Thursday at the camp in Gatineau, Que.

On Tuesday, Black finished first all-around, placing first on her vault and floor routine. The 20-year-old reigning Pan Am champion was third on the beam and uneven bars.

"To know you're officially on the team is pretty incredible," Black told CBC News Wednesday. "But we know there is still a lot of hard work to come.

"Overall I was really happy with my performances. I had a sore wrist coming into this week so I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to go. I knew I just had to go out there and do my best."
