The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games came to a close on Aug. 8, and while that marks the end of one Olympiad, it opens the door to the next — the 2020 Paralympics beginning Aug. 24, with Beijing 2022 just six months away.

With the short timeline between the Summer and Winter Games, fans are invited to stick with the CBC Sports app in order to get ready for Beijing.

Shortly after the closing ceremony in Japan, the CBC Olympics app will close it's Tokyo 2020 section and convert to the CBC Sports app, Canada's top mobile destination for coverage of the national teams and athletes.

Through the app, CBC Sports will continue to provide fans with the latest news and videos in the lead-up to the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, connecting you with the athletes and their stories like no one else.

With a focus on Canadian storylines, the CBC sports app will be your home for discovering the stars of the Winter Olympics before they reach the podium.

This Fall and Winter, CBC Sports will provide in-depth coverage of your favourite winter sports, including figure skating, curling, bobsleigh, skeleton, luge, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, speed skating and, of course, hockey.

Through the app, you can watch live streams of numerous World Cup and world championship events. You will also have access to watch Road to the Olympic Games every weekend.

Through a gender-balanced content approach, CBC Sports will also be sure to highlight the stories of Canada's female athletes, who have dominated the last few Olympic cycles.

Who's qualifying and when? Who's hurt and who is hitting their stride at just the right time?

Through the CBC Sports app, you will find out!

And just in time for the Games, CBC Sports will add a new incredibly in-depth section for Beijing 2022 that will allow you to easily follow the action.

So if you enjoyed Tokyo 2020 through the CBC Olympics app, leave it on your phone and follow along as we get ready for the 2020 Paralympics and Beijing 2022.
