KHL players not to blame for exit: president
Medvedev says domestic league players didn't disrupt the chemistry with NHLers
Alex Medvedev says the Russian team's early exit from the Olympic hockey tournament had nothing to do with the nine KHL players on its roster.
The president of the Russian domestic league says the players didn't disrupt the chemistry with the NHL stars.
Team Canada knocked Russia out of the tournament with a 7-3 quarter-final win on Wednesday.
It was the first time in history the Russians exited the Olympic tournament without playing for a medal.
Also Wednesday, Medvedev met with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman but didn't disclose the nature of their discussions.
The NHL and KHL don't currently have a player transfer agreement.
