CBC, National Post offer joint 2010 Games coverage
Combined forces go full throttle to provide top online coverage of 2010 Olympics
It's an Olympic first.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the National Post will join forces to provide top online coverage of the Vancouver Games.
The collaboration, announced Wednesday, is a first for CBC — and one that will allow both organizations to use their resources to the fullest, said Scott Moore, executive director of CBC Sports and general manager, of CBC media sales and marketing.
Moore said the partnership will provide Canadians with "up to the moment coverage of every aspect of the Games, delivered to our audiences whenever and however they require it."
The initiative will involve a co-branded Olympic Winter Games website featuring continuous coverage from a dedicated team of digital, print and broadcast journalists from CBC Sports and the National Post.
The site will offer an extensive lineup of the latest stories, commentary, video, in-depth game statistics and medal counts.
"Together, as partners, you can expect the National Post and CBC to provide Canadians with comprehensive Olympic Winter Games coverage in 2010," said Jonathan Harris, the National Post's vice-president of digital media. "It's about two respected media companies working together to deliver a unique Olympic experience to the country."
