South Korean takes 50-metre pistol gold
South Korea's Jin Jong-oh won his second shooting medal of the Beijing Games in the men's 50-metre pistol on Day 4 of competition, scoring a total of 660.4 points.
His gold medal comes three days after he won silver in the 10m air pistol. This is the third Olympic medal for Jin, who also won silver at the 2004 Games in the 50m event.
The silver in 50m pistol went to Kim Jong-su of North Korea, the bronze medallist at the 2004 Olympic Games. Kim scored 660.2 points, edging China's Tan Zongliang, who scored 659.5 points to win bronze.
The Chinese shooter, 37, was ranked No. 3 in the world heading into the Games. The world champion in 2006 and 2002, Tan placed 10th in 50m pistol at the 2004 Games.
Finishing fourth was Russia's Vladimir Isakov, who won bronze in 10m air pistol at the 2004 Games. Isakov also won bronze in 50m pistol at the 2006 world championships.
