Kolker, Hoskins complete Canadian rowing team
Canada rounded out its Olympic rowing team Thursday as the women's pair of Sabrina Kolker and Zoe Hoskins became the last of eight crews nominated by Rowing Canada for the Beijing Games.
Kolker, from West Vancouver, B.C., will be competing in her second Olympics. The 27-year-old was a member of the 2004 women's eight that failed to make it past the repechage round.
Hoskins, from Edmonton, is headed to her first Olympics. The 27-year-old captured two medals at the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil — a gold in the quad sculls and silver in the coxless pairs with teammate Nathalie Maurer.
The rest of the Canadian rowing team for the Aug. 8-24 Beijing Olympics was announced Wednesday at a media event in Toronto. Crews that will compete in China include the men's eight, men's pair, lightweight men's double, lightweight men's four, women's eight, women's quad and lightweight women's double.
