Oilers give Dubnyk 2-year deal
The Edmonton Oilers re-signed goaltender Devan Dubnyk to a two-year deal Tuesday.
The 24-year-old Regina native had a 3.57 goals-against average and .889 save percentage through 19 games in his rookie season.
Dubnyk was drafted by the Oilers 14th overall in 2004. The six-foot-six, 194-pound goalie was also a member of the gold-medal winning Canadian team at the 2006 IIHF world junior championship.
Edmonton also agreed to a one-year contract with defenceman Shawn Belle.
The 25-year-old Edmonton native was drafted 30th overall by St. Louis in 2003. He scored three goals and added 16 assists in 70 games with the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs last season.
