NHL free agents: Who's still available?

Once you have pored over the NHL and NHL Players’ Association’s tentative deal on a new collective agreement and understand revenue sharing, pension plans, make-whole payments, prorated salary caps and amnesty buyouts, what’s next?

Well, of course, you want to know what players are playing where, right?

Teemu Selanne? Yes, he’s still in Anaheim, on a one-year, $4.5-million US contract. Zach Parise and Ryan Suter are now with Minnesota. Shane Doan is staying in Phoenix. Alexander Semin bolted Washington for Carolina, and so on.

The following is a list of remaining notable restricted and unrestricted free agents, by team, beginning with the Canadian squads (with help from capgeek.com and NHL.com).

Restricted free agents are players who have completed their entry-level contracts but are under 27 or haven’t reached seven years of NHL service. Teams with RFAs have the first chance to match another team’s offer.

Unrestricted free agents are players without a contract who are 27 or older or have seven years in the NHL.
