Maple Leafs send Mike Komisarek to AHL's Marlies

The Toronto Maple Leafs assigned Mike Komisarek to the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies on Thursday after the defenceman cleared waivers.

Komisarek was a healthy scratch for all but four of the Maple Leafs' games this season.

The 31-year-old is in the fourth season of a five-year deal that pays him an average of $4.5 million US.

The Leafs called up forward Ryan Hamilton from the Marlies. In 56 AHL games this season, Hamilton leads the club in goals (30), points (48), power-play goals (seven), short-handed goals (three), shots (116), and shooting percentage (25.9 per cent).
