Jacob Markstrom, Linden Vey re-sign with Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks re-signed goaltender Jacob Markstrom and forward Linden Vey on Monday. Markstrom backstopped Utica to the AHL Calder Cup finals with a .925 save percentage and 2.11 GAA through 23 games.

The Canucks have re-signed goalie Jacob Markstrom, left, and forward Linden Vey. Markstrom appeared in only three games with Vancouver this past season but backstopped the AHL's Utica Comets to the Calder Cup finals with a .925 save percentage and 2.11 GAA through 23 games. Vey posted 24 points in 75 games with the Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks re-signed goaltender Jacob Markstrom and forward Linden Vey on Monday.

Markstrom appeared in three games with the Canucks last season and 32 games with the American Hockey League's Utica Comets, where he posted a 1.88 goals-against average, and .934 save percentage.

The 25-year-old backstopped the Comets to the Calder Cup finals with a .925 save percentage and 2.11 GAA through 23 games.

Markstrom has a record of 13-28-5 with a 3.19 GAA in 50 career NHL games with Vancouver and Florida. He was acquired by the Canucks from in the trade that sent goaltender Roberto Luongo to the Panthers in March 2014.

Vey, 23, appeared in his first season with the Canucks last year, recording 24 points and 18 penalty minutes in 75 games.
