Hockey Night's 3 Stars
CBCSports.ca senior reporter Tim Wharnsby names the top performers in the NHL from Monday night.
FIRST STAR: Matthew Lombardi, C, Phoenix
Lombardi scored two goals and set up three more for a career-high five points in a 6-1 rout of the Edmonton Oilers in Phoenix. The Montreal native broke out of a slump that had seen him go without a point in his previous five games.
SECOND STAR: Corey Perry, RW, Anaheim
Perry scored a goal and two assists for the Ducks in their 4-2 win at home against the rival Los Angeles Kings, who ended their nine-game win streak. The Ducks have pulled within three points of the Nashville Predators for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference and ended a five-game skid against the Kings. Anaheim has also won its last 10 games on home ice.
THIRD STAR: Chris Stewart, RW, Colorado
The Avalanche forward scored the game-winner and added two assists in Colorado's 5-2 win at home against the St. Louis Blues. Stewart broke a 2-2 tie early in the second period, tipping in a shot from Avalanche defenceman Ryan Wilson.
