FIRST STAR: Alexander Ovechkin, LW, Washington

The Great Eight is on a roll. He now leads the NHL in goals scored with 42 after a hat trick in the Capitals' 5-4 overtime win at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Ovechkin has an incredible eight goals and 12 points in his past five games.

SECOND STAR: Tuukka Rask, G, Boston

Rask has made it difficult for Vezina Trophy winner Tim Thomas to play for the Bruins lately. He made 36 stops in the Bruins' 3-0 victory against the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre. Rask has three shutouts this season.

THIRD STAR: Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh

The Penguins captain scored twice in Pittsburgh's 5-4 overtime loss in Washington. The Canadian Olympian has six goals in his past four games and 39 on the season, a total that matches his career high from his rookie season in 2005-06.
