Hockey Night's 3 Stars

Martin St. Louis, the little engine that could, continued his outstanding season on Tuesday night, scoring two goals and adding an assist in Tampa Bay's 3-1 win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks.

CBCSports.ca senior reporter Tim Wharnsby names the top performers in the NHL from Tuesday night.

FIRST STAR: Martin St. Louis, RW, Tampa Bay

The little engine that could continued his outstanding season. He checked in with two goals and an assist in the Lightning's 3-1 win at home against the Vancouver Canucks. St. Louis now has 20 goals and 66 points, good for seventh in the league.

SECOND STAR: Patrick Kane, RW, Chicago

Kane scored a pair of first-period goals to help the Blackhawks score a 4-3 shootout victory in Dallas. The shifty forward now has 24 goals, one shy of the career-high 25 he scored a season ago.

THIRD STAR: Jonathan Cheechoo, RW, Ottawa

The former 56-goal scorer was in good form in his 500th NHL game. He fired five shots on goal and set up teammate Jason Spezza for the game-winner in the Senators' come-from-behind 3-2 win at home against the Calgary Flames.
