Hockey Night's 3 Stars
CBCSports.ca senior hockey writer Tim Wharnsby picks Wednesday's top NHL performers:
FIRST STAR: Tyler Myers, D, Buffalo
The rookie Sabres blue-liner enjoyed his first career four-point game with a goal and three assists in Buffalo's 5-3 win at home against Dallas. He now has nine goals and 36 points, which ties him with John Tavares of the Islanders for second in the rookie scoring race — 11 points behind Colorado's Matt Duchene.
SECOND STAR: Lee Stempniak, RW, Phoenix
The new Coyotes forward scored twice and also potted a shootout goal in Phoenix's 4-3 win at home against Vancouver. Stempniak now has three goals and four points since he was traded to the Coyotes from Toronto.
THIRD STAR: Patrick Sharp, C, Chicago
The Blackhawks forward scored twice, including the overtime winner, in Chicago's 3-2 victory at home against Los Angeles. Sharp has 13 goals in 15 career games against the Kings.
