Hockey Night's 3 Stars

Daniel Sedin was named first star on Thursday thanks to his hat-trick against Atlanta.

FIRST STAR: Daniel Sedin, F, Vancouver

The Canucks sniper was playing in his eighth game since returning from a broken foot and broke out in a big way with a hat trick in Vancouver's 4-2 at home against Atlanta. Sedin has six goals and 12 points since his injury, and the Canucks have gone 5-3-0 with him back in the lineup.

SECOND STAR: Jack Johnson, D, Los Angeles

The Kings' defenceman scored a goal and an assist in Los Angeles's 3-2 shootout win at home against Phoenix. Johnson even helped out in the shootout by scoring in the second round, but it wasn't until his teammate Justin Williams's goal in the eighth round that the Kings clinched the two points.

THIRD STAR: Sergei Gonchar, D, Pittsburgh

The 35-year-old Penguins defenceman scored a goal and an assist in his team's 3-2 victory in Montreal to end the Canadiens' three-game win streak. Gonchar's assist on Matt Cooke's game-tying goal was his 650th career point in his 949th NHL game.
