Chad Kilger suspended by Panthers
Newly acquired forward Chad Kilger was suspended without pay Wednesday by the Florida Panthers, who acquired him at the NHL's trade deadline.
Kilger, 31, has not played for the Panthers since being obtained Feb. 26 from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a third-round draft pick.
He received permission from the Panthers for a personal leave of absence, but they expected him back by now.
Kilger posted 10 goals and seven assists for 17 points in 53 games with Toronto this season.
The Cornwall, Ont., native has compiled 107 goals and 218 points in 714 games since he was selected fourth overall by Anaheim in the 1995 NHL draft.
Kilger has dressed for the Ducks, Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens and Maple Leafs.
