Canucks' Morrison wins arbitration case

Vancouver Canucks center Brendan Morrison won his arbitration case and will reportedly get $4.6 million over the next two years.

Morrison's salary will nearly triple this year from the $775,000 he made last season. Morrison, who turns 27 August 15th, is expected to get $2.15 million this season and $2.45 million for the 2003-04 campaign.

Playing in all 82 games last season, Morrison had a breakout year, scoring 23 goals and assisting on 44 others. Over the last two seasons, both with Vancouver, he has 39 goals and 82 assists and has yet to miss a regular season game.

Morrison, who spent the first three seasons of his NHL career with the New Jersey Devils, has 64 goals and 147 assists during his six seasons in the league.
