Four killed in Windsor hockey team bus crash

A charter bus carrying a women's hockey team from Windsor, Ont., collided with a tractor trailer in western New York state Saturday, killing four people.

Three bus passengers and the truck driver all died.

The bus was carrying 22 hockey players, aged 17 to 20, from the Windsor Wildcats. Coaches and some parents were also on board.

The team played a game earlier in the day and was en route to a ski resort.

Nineteen patients with injuries ranging from minor to serious were expected to be sent to Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Approximately five people were likely to be admitted to intensive care in guarded condition, she added.

The accident remains under police investigation.
