Imoh agrees to 1-year deal with Alouettes
Running back's new contract also includes 2010 option
Running back Mike Imoh followed the lead of offensive teammates Ben Cahoon, Bryan Chiu and Jamel Richardson this off-season in re-signing with the Montreal Alouettes on Wednesday.
Imoh will enter his third season with the Canadian Football League team armed with a one-year contract and an option for the 2010 season.
The 24-year-old took over for injured Alouettes tailback Avon Cobourne on Sept. 7 and never looked back, carrying the ball 12 times for 75 yards in his season debut while adding 38 yards on four receptions in a 45-19 win over Toronto.
He finished the season second to his backfield partner in Montreal rushing, with 62 carries for 398 yards and three touchdowns.
Imoh also caught 12 passes for 147 yards and a major in six games.
The former Virginia Tech tailback started the 2007 campaign while one-time Alouette Jarrett Payton recovered from an ankle injury but dressed for only four more games, missing the rest of the season with a collarbone injury.
Imoh once rushed for 243 yards in college against North Carolina.
