Doug Gilmour would be proud. After Nazem Kadri scored his second career hat trick Saturday night in Ottawa, the Toronto Maple Leafs forward was a guest of Hockey Night in Canada's Ron MacLean and Don Cherry.

After Nazem Kadri scored his second career hat trick Saturday night in Ottawa, the Toronto Maple Leafs forward was a guest of Hockey Night in Canada's Ron MacLean and Don Cherry.

Kadri told MacLean on how important Cherry's support has been from 'Day 1.'

Just as the post-game segment was ending, Cherry kissed a smiling Kadri.
