State of the Nation: Episode 5

Canadians continued to show off their smarts on Sunday. While Max came from behind to claim his spot in the finale, Canada posted some impressive scores during the live challenges in Episode 5. Take a look at the results:

NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE - CANADA'S GOT BRAIN POWER

It's finally time to put the spotlight on YOU, Canada, with this shiny, personalized intelligence profile. While the country as a whole needs some work in the musical category, Canada's strengths clearly came in the Pedal Power challenge after putting up some impressive numbers in the linguistic and physical categories.

LEADERBOARD - ALEX MANEA TAKES TOP SPOT

Big props to Alex Manea of Waterloo, Ont., for posting the highest score we've seen so far on the Canada's Smartest live challenges, with a 584 out of a possible 600 points. Special shout out to Hannah Warren and Tomás Shea for making the Top 8 for the second consecutive week, and high-five to Ali Khodr-Ali for rounding out our Top 3.

RICHMOND RISES

Congrats to Richmond, B.C., for taking the title of Top City of Episode 5. You worked your way to the top of the leaderboard with incredible performances in Pedal Power and Motivate.

Maybe this will motivate YOUR town to play along during the week -- especially live on Sunday nights -- for a chance to see your hometown represented here!

Until then, Richmond remains the reigning champs and they've got an official certificate to prove it:
