Known for his award-winning cinematography on feature documentaries Monsoon and Koneline, Van has also co-directed several major docs including Let There Be Light, The Vote and Speed of Thought.
Over the course of his career, Van has devoted himself to exploring and re-interpreting the challenging discipline of observational documentary; constantly looking for novel and intimate ways to share his impression of the world. Van’s dedication has garnered him collaborations with world renowned filmmakers including Yung Chang, Mila Aung-Thwin, Nettie Wild, Sturla Gunnarsson and the Oscar-winning Denys Arcand on projects ranging from advertising campaigns and music videos to art installations and feature films.
