Lesley Johnson is a Toronto and Yellowknife-based filmmaker and producer. She has a background in biology, studied film in York University’s MFA program and was a recent participant of RIDM’s Talent Lab. Her work focuses on identity and personal transformation with relation to place, arts and environment. Released on CBC’s Short Doc platform, her documentary Princess Jack was nominated for a Golden Sheaf award at Yorkton. As a producer, she worked on the APTN docu-series Dene A Journey, and the documentary and interactive Shadow of a Giant, distributed through the NFB. Her latest producer collaboration was on video auteur Daniel Cockburn’s The Argument (with annotations), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Lesley's latest film, I Hold The Dehcho In My Heart / Sedze Tah Dehcho E'Toh was released in July on CBC Short Docs.
