Jordan Molaro is a proud Anishnaabe writer, editor and director driven by a passion for the art of filmmaking. His work has been praised for its distinct style, cultural significance and ability to resonate his characters with audiences.
After the success of Jordan’s short film The Sacred Seven, which screened at film festivals around the world, Jordan’ was hired as the national audio and video editor for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 2012. Around the same time, Jordan began the process of co-founding and launching the Nu Media education program: in its first year, the program immersed eight Indigenous students residing on reserve into the world of film. Jordan just finished working on Taken, a national series that profiles 15 cases of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. In 2017, Jordan, was renewed again for the Nu Media program and, in collaboration with 20 Indigenous youth, completed nine films that are currently in the international film festival circuit.
