Shift's Virtual Choir to Perform Hallelujah Chorus

Handel's Hallelujah Chorus is a Christmas tradition...and we expect many choirs in the province plan to perform it as part of their Christmas concert celebrations. We have a crazy idea, and we're going to need your help! We're going to try and create a pan-provincial Hallelujah Chorus here on the show!

Here's how it will work - in theory - and we hope in practice. If your choir is practising the chorus this year, please record yourselves. You can email the mp3 to Once we have all the submissions, we'll put them together, moving from one choir to the next, until we have the whole province singing the chorus together!

We know it's a lot to ask, but we also think it will be worth it! So, please send your recordings to us, and please make them acapella so that it's easier to blend the voices. If you have pictures of your choir performing, send those as well along with the dates for your Christmas performances. The deadline for submissions is December 12.

Please be part of New Brunswick's own remote mass choir!

To encourage thoughtful and respectful conversations, first and last names will appear with each submission to CBC/Radio-Canada's online communities (except in children and youth-oriented communities). Pseudonyms will no longer be permitted.
