Single people are a very important part of Alberta society.- Rick Park, Alberta MLA

In an interview with Pat Kelly this week, Park proclaimed, "If we have family day there also needs to be a day that celebrates those Canadians who identify as 'single' or 'without family."

When asked what he thought people would do on "Singles Day," Park responded, "We're hoping on that day, singles would get exclusive access to places that we normally feel excluded from. Places like: Family restaurants, the science centre and bowling alleys."
