Jillian Tamaki on her weirdest day job
Jillian Tamaki is a cartoonist and the author of Super Mutant Magic Academy. She was on The Next Chapter recently to discuss one of her most memorable day jobs: working in a stable.
"Between high school and college, I took a year off and taught riding and groomed at Spruce Meadows, a riding academy outside Calgary. I worked for very, very rich people. I would make quite a bit of money braiding horse tails and horse manes and getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning and giving baths to the horses. Shovelling horse manure was a really great way to spend the year off between high school and college. It was extremely eye-opening."
