Royal Canoe's Matt Peters is a fan of this Elena Ferrante hit novel

Royal Canoe is a Winnipeg indie rock band and Matt Peters is its lead singer. The band's latest album is Waver, a mix of strings, vocals and layered sounds.
Peters loves to read and is currently reading My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante.
"It's this very captivating and unique coming-of-age story of these two young women who are growing up in a very impoverished part of the city of Naples in the 1950s. The core of the novel is this complex relationship between these two young women as they grow from their childhood through to their teenage years.
"The best part is this relationship between the two main characters. They live these divergent paths but they're close together throughout emotionally."
Matt Peters's comments have been edited for length and clarity.
