The scrap in the Senate continues ...
The principle is that when you have bad behaviour and you use your privilege to abuse power and it could imply a disciplinary sanction, that's what we're doing. It's a very severe sanction, but I think it's appropriate in this instance.Claude Carignan, Leader of the Government in the Senate
Claude Carignan, the Government Leader in the Senate believes the plan to suspend Senators Patrick Brazeau, Mike Duffy and Pamela Wallin without pay is harsh but fair. But a few Senators appear to be having sober second thoughts.
Some think it is not the Senate's place to discipline its members in this way. And some say the Senators deserve a better chance to properly defend themselves against accusations of inappropriate spending.
