Dr. Bob Blackburn, Exec Director of the Oklahoma Historical Society brings us the story of how the parking meter was born and introduces us to the two men behind it, Oklahoma's chair of the traffic committee Carl Magee and engineer Gerald Hale.

The parking meter was originally installed in Oklahoma City on July 16, 1935. It cost one nickle for one hour of parking. (Wolfman-K)
