Spark is an ongoing conversation about our rapidly changing world. Along with you, host Nora Young explores how technology, innovation and design affects our lives.

Spark is produced in Toronto by Michelle Parise, Kent Hoffman, Adam Killick and Nora Young.

Nora Young was the founding host of the CBC Radio show Definitely not the Opera, where she often focused on new media and technology.

As a journalist, author, and speaker, Nora explores how new technology shapes the way we understand ourselves and the world around us. Her book, The Virtual Self, is published by McClelland and Stewart. Her favourite technology is her bicycle.

Michelle Parise has been with the CBC for most of her adult life. Wait, for all of her adult life! Crazy but true. Being the Senior Producer of Spark is her dream job, no joke!

Kent Hoffman has worn many different hats (and coats) at CBC Radio working on many programs including White Coat Black Art, Outfront, and As It Happens. He recently produced the 2012 CBC summer series Fear Itself and tried his hand at making 'scary radio'. His radio philosophy is the same as Eddie Van Halen's music philosophy: If it sounds good — it is good.

Before joining Spark, Adam Killick was a producer at CBC's As It Happens for 15 years, and his radio documentaries have been heard on CBC, BBC, NPR and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He has twice won Canada's National Magazine Award for his long-form journalism. He also rides his bicycle a lot and occasionally saves lives as a ski patroller.
