Sleepover Check-In: What becomes of your problems?
Three complete strangers bunk with Sook-Yin Lee in a room for 24 hours and try to solve each other's life problems, but the big question remains: once you return to the world, what happens to your problems after the sleepover? Sook-Yin checks in with guests from the first three sleepovers in Vancouver, Salt Spring Island, and Toronto.
First, has Vancouver's "Millionaire Under 40", Soheil Biniaz, made a rich guy friend to travel the globe and have adventures with? Has local tween LGBTQ hero, Tru Wilson, been able to develop survival skills to handle a transphobic world with? What happened to Sacha Ouellet in her quest to overcome her fear of leaving her mom?
Next, we head to Salt Spring Island to revisit disaffected young activist Cody Bergerud, and find out if he was able to break the bad news to his Syrian friends that he can't help them immigrate to Canada. And can Hawaiian-Coast Salish archivist, Cathy Roland, figure out a way to document and keep her family's vibrant legacy alive? Will lovelorn "tree surgeon" Scott Nyuli find the ever-elusive romance he's searching for? Inquiring minds need to know.
In Toronto, we rendezvous with Judy Simmonds, 87 years young and at odds with her family who wants her to stop driving. Meanwhile, has young Ben Goodes been able work with his autism-related anxiety to find a pal? And has workaholic Kai Cheng Thom figured out how to, as Ben puts it, "chillax"?
All will be revealed when Sleepover checks in with our guests after they've checked out...
