Jael Richardson's book pick: Gun Island by Amitav Ghosh

Our books columnist, Jael Richardson, fills us in on a new book to check out: Gun Island by Amitav Ghosh.
Gun Island is a novel by Amitav Ghosh. (Hamish Hamilton)

Jael Richardson is q's books columnist. She drops by every couple weeks to fill us in on a new book to check out. Today, she joins host Tom Power to talk about Amitav Ghosh's ninth novel Gun Island. It's a book that manages to be both a magical escape from reality and also a deep dive into the two most pressing issues we face today: climate change and the migration of people across borders.
