As the gift-giving season is now upon us, q's books columnist stops by with a list of her favourite books from the past year.

Jael Richardson is q's books columnist. She drops by every couple weeks to fill us in on a new book to check out, but today she'll be doing something a little different. As the gift-giving season is now upon us, Richardson joins us to recommend some of her favourite books from the past year:
