Shenae Grimes-Beech and Angela Griffin are the stars of a new Canadian police drama, The Detail, a reinvention of the classic police procedural featuring an all-female cop duo. The series is just as much about the challenging dynamic between two brilliant but flawed women, as it is about solving crimes.

Grimes-Beech and Griffin dropped by the q studio to talk about quietly refreshing the cop show as a place where female leadership and teamwork take centre stage, while no one makes a fuss about it. The actors share their thoughts about female-driven workplaces — on-screen and behind-the-scenes — in their chat with guest host, Laurie Brown.

The Detail airs on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET on CTV.
