The man behind music's biggest hits is now putting his own spin on the songs he helped write

Songwriter and musician Dan Wilson has written songs for Adele, Taylor Swift and the Dixie Chicks. Now he wants you to hear his voice on his new album, Re-Covered.

Dan Wilson is most famous for his band Semisonic but he's also an award-winning songwriter. Wilson talks to q about his new album Re-Covered. It's a collection of songs he has co-written with other artists. He says he's doing it to lay claim to these songs in his own voice.

"You and I" by John Legend, "Someone Like You" by Adele and "Not Ready to Make Nice" by the Dixie Chicks were all written to some degree by Wilson along with "Closing Time" by Semisonic.

Wilson talks about the process of collaborating with artists from various genres, including Taylor Swift, Josh Groban and others.
