CBC's annual battle of the books continues. Our final Canada Reads champion is Kabul-born, Vancouver-based singer Mozhdah Jamalzadah. Known as the "Oprah of Afghanistan," she braved death threats to tackle tough topics on her own talk show before returning to Canada. Now she plans to make The Boat People by Sharon Bala a Canada Reads winner.

The 2018 Canada Reads debates will take place March 26-29.
