It's been more than 50 years since the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup, but diehard Leafs fans still remember the team that brought the Cup back to Toronto. In particular, they remember a player by the name of Terry Sawchuk.

Sawchuk was arguably the greatest goaltender to ever protect the net and he earned that reputation without a mask. He was born and raised in Winnipeg and had a tough upbringing. Even after he'd made a name for himself in hockey, life never really got easy for him.

The ups and down of Sawchuk's life are told in a new film called Goalie, starring Mark O'Brien. You might know O'Brien from his roles in Republic of Doyle or The Front Runner with Hugh Jackman. He dropped by the q studio to tell us what it was about Sawchuk's life story that drew him in.

Goalie opens in Toronto and Vancouver on March 1, 2019 with more cities to follow in the spring.
