Clement Virgo on directing Oprah in her return to TV

Clement Virgo joins Shad to discuss Greenleaf, a new series premiering tomorrow on Oprah Winfrey Network.
Clement Virgo — the Toronto filmmaker behind the acclaimed adaptation of The Book of Negroes — is returning to the small screen with GreenleafThe new series follows an African American family that runs a Memphis megachurch as they grapple with secrets and scandals. 

The star-studded ensemble cast features Oprah Winfrey in a much-anticipated return to television drama.

In the lead up to tonight's premiere, Virgo joins Shad to discuss the high-stakes project, the pressure of following up on his last great success, and how the show deals with thorny issues like the business side of religion, sexual abuse, and police violence.
