Have you always wanted to venture into the world of stand-up comedy, but didn't know where to start? Well let comedian Josh Gondelman help you out.

We asked Gondelman to provide us with a gateway of sorts for newbies interested in getting into stand-up comedy, and below is the pick he thinks will ignite a new found passion.

Gary Gulman, Conversations With Inanimate Objects

"It's a lot of observational jokes about just things in the world, but there's such a level of nitty gritty thoroughness to every bit. Whether it's about grapefruit or school supplies from childhood, it's thorough and complete. He's from the Boston area and he would drop in occasionally at comedy clubs in the area and I was always excited. He's one of my favourites and just the meticulousness of his writing makes every joke as funny as it can possibly be. It's so relatable but also so specific and I just think that anybody can latch on to and enjoy."
