Stop ridiculing small penises, says winner of subversive pageant
How does a modestly-endowed man confront his fear of taking off his pants? Well, how about daring to do it in a room full of strangers?
Taylor Campbell a.k.a. Puzzlemaster joins Shad to discuss the subversive power of the Smallest Penis in Brooklyn pageant. Campbell, who won this year's competition, explains why he wanted a title most men would find insulting and why we need to celebrate, not mock, the diversity of male bodies.
Campbell, who describes feeling a real camaraderie with his fellow contestants, says he's grappled with body issues since childhood.
"It's always been a struggle to accept that fact that you exist in a physical space, and I don't know if a lot of people understand that struggle," he tells Shad, adding that the "goofy" event has serious underpinnings.
q: Do you view smaller male anatomy as an automatic punchline? Can you relate to the anxiety that stems from being the "wrong" shape or size?
