In addition to concerns over infrastructure, crime rates, and protestors, another aspect of the upcoming FIFA World Cup has struck a bad chord with soccer fans. 

In today's opening essay, Jian expresses his own doubts about the official FIFA anthem performed by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull. 

Many argue that the song, featuring non-Brazilian artists delivering mostly English lyrics, falls short of adequately representing Brazilian culture.
