Steven Page: 'This is when we need Leonard Cohen most'

The Canadian songwriter talks about Leonard Cohen's influence on his own music.

"This is when we need Leonard Cohen the most," Steven Page remembers thinking, when he heard the news of the Canadian icon's death yesterday. "His rye and bitter sense of humour would be the light for a lot of people who needed it at this time."

Page has taken a lot of influence from Cohen over the years, adding: "I learned to organize thought in a song by listening to his music."

Page came into the q studios this morning to discuss his love of Cohen and his memorable experiences seeing him live and even performing with him.
