In a segment that we call the q Thursday Headliner, we invite a band or artist we think you need to hear to kick off the show with a live performance.

This week, Toronto R&B singer-songwriter Liza drops by the studio alongside her band to perform a few new songs from her forthcoming album.

Liza joins q guest host Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe to reflect on how she's grown since her first EP release two years ago and the influences behind her sound. You can catch her performing on Oct. 26 at the Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto as part of TEDxToronto.
