Ilyasah Shabazz wants young readers to meet her dad, Malcolm X

On the heels of the 50th anniversary of his assassination, Ilyasah Shabazz explains why she felt compelled to share her father's story with a new generation of readers.

Malcolm X's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz ​joins guest host Rachel Giese to discuss X  -- her new novel about her famous father's early years -- and how a new generation can use her father's work as a resource.

On the heels of the 50th anniversary of X's assassination, Shabazz shares how she came to know her father after his death and how his work connects to contemporary social justice campaigns (like #BlackLivesMatter).
