Adrian X has been the go-to Toronto guitarist for everyone from Drake, to Kylie Minogue and Serena Ryder.

But it was when he was playing for Nelly Furtado that Adrian had the opportunity to open for Prince.

"[We] didn't sleep that night," he tells Shad, "it was the coolest thing in the history of my existence at that point."

As for what Prince taught Adrian as an artist, he can't name just one thing.

"He basically left [us] every single lesson that there is to know about the entire musical language, about production, about songwriting, about groove ... he made this timeless music."
